Aim of the course:
The aim of this course is to equip VET practitioners and in-company trainers with the knowledge, strategies and tools needed to design and deliver green skills curricula that are inclusive, equitable and accessible to all learners. The course develops participants’ capacity to recognise and reduce barriers to participation, value diversity as a resource, and ensure that learners from different cultural, socio-economic and ability backgrounds have equal opportunities to engage in sustainability learning.
By exploring inclusive pedagogical approaches, accessibility principles and support systems, the course empowers educators to create learning environments where every learner feels respected, represented and able to succeed. This alignment between inclusion and green skills strengthens both social equity and environmental outcomes, ensuring that the transition to a sustainable economy benefits all members of society.
Main ideas:
- Inclusion, diversity and equity are essential components of high-quality green VET.
- Identifying barriers through needs assessments enables intentional and equitable curriculum design.
- Inclusive teaching strategies (such as UDL, differentiation and culturally responsive pedagogy) support diverse learners.
- Accessibility must be ensured across physical, digital and pedagogical dimensions.
