Aim of the course:
The aim of this course is to help VET practitioners and trainers understand how entrepreneurial mindsets can be intentionally embedded into curriculum content for green jobs. As sustainability challenges require creative thinking, initiative, resilience and ethical awareness, the course supports educators in developing learners who are ready to identify opportunities, innovate responsibly and contribute to Uganda’s evolving green economy.
The course introduces the foundations of entrepreneurial thinking, explores sustainable and responsible entrepreneurship, and presents the EntreComp and GreenComp competence frameworks as practical tools for curriculum development. By the end of the course, educators will be equipped to design learning experiences that strengthen learners’ creativity, problem-solving abilities, self-efficacy and commitment to environmental and social sustainability.
Main ideas:
- Entrepreneurial mindsets empower learners to recognise opportunities and act creatively in response to green challenges.
- Sustainable entrepreneurship requires ethical responsibility, long-term thinking and respect for environmental and social well-being.
- Competence frameworks such as EntreComp and GreenComp provide structure for designing mindset-oriented learning outcomes.
- Active, supportive and reflective learning environments are essential to developing creativity, resilience and self-efficacy.
- Embedding ethical awareness ensures that green business ideas contribute positively to communities and ecosystems.
